Doodling Designs Class

I am taking an online class at www.joggles.com called Doodling Designs with teacher Susan Sorrell. I am way behind on lessons, but these are some doodles and the project for the first lesson. I am not much of a "doodler", I feel like I am trying to hard to "draw" instead of just let the flow of the doodle come. Too much of a control freak probably! I am anxious to go through the next lessons, it just might take me some time. Stay tuned....

I only have one pattern I doodle -- is this class good at helping you learn to doodle or does it expect you already doodle and focuses on making design from doodles?

I love your doodles. Very creative. I'm a great doodler myself and often go on and paint them after I'm done. Some odd portion of my brain takes over when I doodle and I don't even realize what I'm drawing.

Quilt Pixie--The class kind of expects you know how to doodle already, but she does give you some exercises to loosen you up and doodle. Then you can crop your doodle and find different designs in it. There are also lessons on collage, making a stamp from your doodle, and embroidering a more elaborate doodle. I am going slow but have been enjoying the lessons!

Hey Elizabeth,
I think your doodles are awesome. Did you try the stick in the ink method to help you loosen up? I think as adults we tend to over think stuff and doodling is playing with shapes. I have started doodling with one shape like a circle and then built on top of that. ;)

Keep up the great work!!!

I like these a lot. I agree it's hard to just let go and "doodle".
